Today was a true rest day. The only chore on our agenda was to get the laundry done. I slept late (about 8am), which felt wonderful! About 10am we gathered laundry and walked a block over from the hotel to the laundromat to take care of that. Before noon, all required chores were done.
After lunch we went back to our rooms for naps and to call for reservations for the next couple days. I didn't get a nap but spent my time planning out the next 8 days of my ride and the logistics for getting home. Yes, the end of my trip is next week and it seems to be coming fast. I'm anxious to get home to my husband but also sad that the trip is almost over. There's always conflicting emotions about the end of a tour.
I will finish in Burlington, VT on Wednesday, August 25. I have booked the packing of my bike at a local bike shop, Skirack, for Thursday and have a flight home on Friday.
Tomorrow starts the last 8 days of riding - and some of it will be challenging in the Adirondacks.
